Two people were killed when a car overturned between Pearston and Somerset East in the Eastern Cape on Friday.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, said a man and a woman, both in their thirties, died in the accident.
He said it was suspected that the vehicle, travelling on the R-63, might have been overloaded with eight passengers with it crashed.
Bramwell said the driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
The other injured passengers were transported to the Somerset East Hospital.
