Two people have been killed and five others seriously injured in a road accident on the N10 near Paterson approaching the Nanaga interchange.
Police say two vehicles travelling in opposite directions collided shortly before 5 pm on Thursday.
An Isuzu truck with two occupants was pulling a livestock trailer and was turning when a Toyota Quantum minibus with 12 occupants smashed into the rear trailer.
The driver of the Quantum and a passenger were declared dead on the scene.
One critically injured passenger and four seriously injured passengers were rushed to Livingstone Hospital for further medical treatment.
Reckless and negligent driving is believed to be the main contributing factor to the accident.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened for further investigation with SAPS at Paterson.
