Two people have been killed and eight others sustained injuries, following a collision between two vehicles on the Mdantsane Access Road in East London.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department says the accident happened on Sunday afternoon when a Toyota Avanza with nine occupants was traveling from Mdantsane to East London collided with another Avanza with one male occupant.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says two male passengers died at the scene.
He says the injured, including both drivers, were rushed to the Cecilia Makhiwane and Frere Hospitals for medical care.
Binqose says it is alleged that reckless and negligent driving was the main contributing factor for the cause of the accident.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
