Two men arrested for the kidnapping of Sterkstroom businesswoman, Denise Bartlett, appeared in court in the town on Monday.
The case against 37-year-old Raymond Fillis and 45-year-old Marlon Cornellus, was postponed to 19 February for a formal bail application.
The two were arrested last week after Bartlett was found tied up in a house near Sterkstroom after she was abducted from her home during an armed robbery on Tuesday.
Bartlett's daughter, DA councillor, Lindy Haggard, was quoted as saying that she had received a call from a person last Thursday demanding a R3m ransom for her mother's return.
She said however that the suspects were later arrested after police were able to trace several calls to one of the suspect's phones.
Police said that Fillis and Cornellus face charges of house robbery and kidnapping.
