Two people appeared in the East London Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a woman in a parking lot earlier this month.

25-year-old Keegan Human and 24-year-old Michaela Foreman allegedly had a fight with an unknown woman outside a drinking spot in Abbotsford.

The incident, which was captured on video, shows a woman tackling another woman from behind before they both fall to the ground.

In the footage, obtained from CCTV cameras at the Below Deck pub, the man, believed to be 25-year-old Keegan Human, can be seen kicking a woman in her face or head, rendering her unconscious.

He then disappears from view while the woman, believed to be Foreman, stays behind calling for help.

Keegan and Foreman are now facing a charge of assault and are currently out on bail.

Their legal representative Andre Schoombee says his clients will be back in court on the 26th of May.

The investigation is still ongoing and AlgoaFM News understands that statements from some witnesses must still be obtained.

Outstanding hospital records from the victim are also being awaited.

The video sent shockwaves through the East London community when it went viral on social media and led to both the accused deleting their profiles on Facebook (FB).

Below Deck said on its FB page that they were cooperating with police in the matter, highlighting that the incident happened in the parking lot of the Abbotsford Centre and not inside their establishment.

The name of the victim and her current condition is not known.
