Two high profile cases postponed in Gqeberha

Two of Gqeberha’s most high-profile cases at the moment will be back before the local Magistrates Court in April.

Forty-year-old Xolisile Rawutini, who was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of biokineticist, Riana Pretorius, is expected back in court on 5 April.

Rawutini is believed to have been part of a group of three who snatched Pretorius from outside her place of work in Newton Park last week.

Meanwhile, murder accused Arnold Terblanche was also back in court on Friday where his case was remanded to the 19th of April.

It was the first time that the businessman was not dragged from the court's holding cells after he forked out bail of a million rand in February.

The alleged wife-killer spent nearly 15 months at St Albans Prison following his arrest in November 2021.

He is only the second murder accused in South African legal history to be granted bail of R1 million after Oscar Pistorius.

The 'blade runner' is currently serving time for the murder of his Gqeberha girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp and will be back before the parole board next week.
