Two people in East London had lucky escapes after being swept out to sea in seperate incidents on Monday.
NSRI spokesperson, Geoff McGregor, says the first incident happened at Palm Springs early in the morning when a 22-year-old man was swept out to sea by rip currents.
However, he says before NSRI volunteers arrived on the scene the man had been rescued by a friend.
He was airlifted to hospital after receiving CPR from the resort owner.
In the second incident, McGregor, says a young woman was rescued at Eastern Beach by a boogie boarder.
He says the young woman was found to be in a stable condition.
