Two Eastern Cape men have been arrested for the murder of a woman whose car had broken down.
Police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni, says that the incident happened at the Caca Administrative Area in Dalasile near Ngcobo on Sunday.
She said the two assailants, who pretended to offer help, drew guns and fired several shots at the 25-year-old woman.
Mdleleni says members of the local community from the Caca Administrative Area rushed the woman to the All Saints Hospital at Ngcobo where she later died.
The suspects, aged 35 and 45 will appear in court in Ngcobo on Tuesday.
The motive for the murder is not yet known.
Meanwhile, members of Matatiele's Visible Policing Unit have received certificates of commendation for their swift arrest of three suspects for a business robbery a week ago.
Eastern Cape police said the Vispol members arrested three suspects, including a local traffic official, within half an hour of the robbery being reported at the Lukholweni Police on 25 March.
Spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said that during the arrest police also seized a shotgun and ammunition.
He said one of the suspects is a 30-year-old Municipal traffic officer, whose vehicle was also seized as it had been used in the commission of a crime.
The three will appear in court again on Wednesday.
