Police in Swartkops in Gqeberha have opened an inquest docket after two people reportedly drowned in a boating accident on Sunday.
Spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, said a rubber duck with six people on board entered the surf from the Swartkops River at around 5pm, when it capsized.
He said four people managed to swim to safety reaching the beach at St Georges Strand.
However, Beetge said the body of the 50 year old male skipper was recovered on the beach, while another male is still missing.
He said the search for the missing man is continuing.
