A 23-year-old man is expected to appear at the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Thursday after he was arrested at OR Tambo International airport for being in possession of cocaine worth about R1.5 million.
The man was arrested on Tuesday by a multi-disciplinary task team established to fight crime at the airport.
The suspect was arrested during a routine search by the narcotics' team.
The man's luggage was searched shortly after he disembarked from a flight from Sao Paolo.
Police also arrested a man who was trying to smuggle khat on board a flight to Frankfurt.
The 23-year-old Dimitri Keller already appeared in court and was denied bail.
The Khat in his possession has a street value of about R900 000.
