Two arrested in PE abalone bust

Two people were arrested in Nelson Mandela Bay for allegedly being in possession of thousands of units of abalone.

They were arrested by the Tactical Task Team during two busts on Friday night.

More than 5800 units of abalone were seized.

Task team spokesperson, Tom Swartz, says a firearm was also recovered.

The suspects are due to appear in court soon.
