Two arrested in Despatch for illegal possession of large number of oysters

Two Chinese nationals are due to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court on Monday for the illegal possession of a large number of oysters without a valid permit.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei says the two men, aged 57 and 39 years, were arrested in Despatch over the weekend.

He says they were in possession of more than 1 700 oysters.

Seekoei says the value of the oysters is approximately R6 000.
