Port Elizabeth police arrested two murder suspects in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The suspects, both aged 20, allegedly killed a shopkeeper in Rensburg Street in Arcadia on the evening of the 8th of February.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says it is alleged that a known suspect bought a cigarette at about 6.30 pm and smoked it inside the shop.
He then pointed a firearm at a 28-year-old female behind the counter, demanding money.
Naidu says the woman refused and an argument broke out.
The man left empty-handed but shattered the shop window by pelting it with stones.
Colonel Naidu says the women went to the police station to open a case and it was during that time that the shopkeeper was murdered.
The two suspects were arrested at their respective homes in Grootboom Street.
The victim was identified as 39-year-old Husain Morad.
