Two people were arrested for public violence in Sea Vista, in the St Francis Bay area, after eight foreign-owned shops were looted by residents.
According to police the residents were angered by the death of a 19-year-old boy who was stabbed in Humansdorp on Sunday.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said the Public Order Police and neighbouring stations were deployed to the area to monitor the situation.
The Humansdorp cluster commander, Brigadier Neil Jantjies, issued a stern warning to resident's involved in criminal activities in the area.
The 36-year-old and 57-year-old are due to appear before the Humansdorp Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
