Police have arrested two men following a high-speed car chase which ended in a major accident at Colchester outside Port Elizabeth and the discovery of three large bags of dagga.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, says the drama began early on Wednesday morning when two men in a VW Golf failed to stop when Kinkelbos police tried to stop the vehicle to conduct a routine check.
He says the driver sped off and a chase ensued.
Beetge says when they reached Colchester the driver of the Golf swerved to avoid hitting another car that had exited the garage, losing control and then smashing into the back of a stationary truck.
He says the vehicle eventually came to a standstill.
Police arrested the driver and his passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
