Twenty people miraculously survived an accident and fire after a fully loaded minibus taxi, bakkie and sedan collided on the R61 on Thursday.
Provincial Traffic spokesperson Unathi Binqose says the accident happened on the road between Komani and Tarkastad.
He says the driver of a BMW with two passengers on board lost control of his vehicle when it overturned and burst into flames.
Binqose says all three people managed to crawl out alive, escaping with minor burn wounds.
He says the fire spread to the veld, resulting in thick smoke, which led to a secondary crash where the taxi collided with the bakkie.
Binqose says parts of the taxi caught fire, but all the passengers from both vehicles, 14 in the taxi and three in the bakkie, escaped.
He says ten people were rushed to hospital with some burn wounds while others were treated for minor cuts and bruises.
Ten others refused treatment and transportation.
