Twelve people have been arrested in Port Elizabeth following a service delivery protest.
Police spokesperson, Dumile Gwavu, says the 12 were arrested by members of the Public Order Policing Unit in Kwazkahele, on Thursday.
This follows a protest in which about 300 people burnt tyres and blocked roads with bricks and concrete blocks.
Gwavu says they were protesting over houses that were promised but never built.
He says those arrested on charges of public violence will appear in court soon.
