A truck driver is behind bars after trying to bribe police officers who arrested him for dealing in dagga.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, said Paterson SAPS stopped the truck on the N10 on Thursday and searched the vehicle.
He said they found a large bag containing 40 kilograms of dagga with an estimated value of R400 000.
“The 58-year-old man attempted to bribe the arresting officers with R5000," Beetge said.
He will appear in court in Alexandria on Thursday on charge of bribery and dealing in dagga.
