Members of the police's Tactical Response Team in Nelson Mandela Bay have arrested a hijacking suspect shortly after a man was robbed of his vehicle in Motherwell on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Office Dumile Gwavu, says the TRT members had responded to a call on police radio about the hijacking.
He says while making their way to Motherwell, they spotted the hijacked vehicle on the M-17 travelling towards Kwazakhele.
Gwavu says they gave chase and when they apprehended the suspect they found a fire-arm and ammunition in his possession.
The Suspect will appear in court soon. Police will investigate the possibility of the suspect being linked to other cases.
