Trollip to investigate contents of Crispian Olver's book, "How to Steal a City"

Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor, Atholl Trollip, said allegations contained in Crispian Olver's book, "How to Steal a City", will be investigated.

The tell-all book, that seeks to lift the lid on corruption in Nelson Mandela Bay, was launched in the city on Monday evening.

Olver was sent by axed Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan, to root out corruption in the Metro.

Trollip said the coalition government has taken a zero tolerance approach to corruption since coming into office.

He said a number of contracts have already been frozen, a number of officials suspended and a significant amount of laptops and documents seized.

Trollip said if indeed there is merit to Olver's allegations, with evidence to substantiate them, then appropriate action will be taken against all implicated officials or service providers.
