The three men arrested for the brutal murder of 62 year-old Addo farmer Allan Carke last April will go on trial in the Grahamstown High Court next month.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Gerda Swart says the three men in their 20's and early 30's made a brief appearance in court on Tuesday where they were told that the matter will be heard from the 15th to the 26th of February.
The accused remain in custody in prison in Grahamstown.
Clarke's body was found near the Seaview off-ramp on the N2 on the 20th of April 2015.
Mount Road Police's acting cluster commander, Brigadier Ronald Koll told AlgoaFM News at the time that the swift arrests were the result of good cooperation between members of a private security company and the police.
Police were notified by the security company of a vehicle parked near a service station in Greenbushes with three occupants inside.
Koll says when police arrived on scene they questioned the men about the vehicle's ownership and after noticing blood on the back of the bakkie one of the men allegedly admitted to the involvement in the attack on the farmer.
