The Ugie High School in the Eastern Cape is expected to operate as normal, following the murder of a 45-year-old man outside the premises on Wednesday.
Police have launched a manhunt for three men who opened fire on the bakkie of the 45-year-old, identified in news reports as taxi operator, Phelo Nxangashe.
Police spokesperson, Captain Ursula Roelofse, says as he dropped off his two children, a white Nissan Double cab bakkie parked next to him.
She says the men got out of the bakkie and fired several shots in front of the school gate before one suspect shot the father in the head.
The children were not harmed but left traumatized.
Ugie High School principal Kota Bruwer responded swiftly and allowed children to be fetched from school as they were severely traumatized by the event.
Bruwer said they've contacted social services and the Department of Education to assist with counselling of the learners.
