Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has admitted that traces of e-coli have been found in the water supply to residents of Tiryville in the Northern Areas.
The municipality said that Tiryville residents should boil their water before drinking it.
Municipality spokesperson, Marthie Nel, also reiterated that the Metro's water is safe to drink following a recent outbreak of Shigella, mainly in the Kwazakhele area.
She says recent tests results in all other areas of the Metro has confirmed that the water is e-coli free.
