Police in Mthatha have arrested a 28-year-old man who allegedly robbed a couple from Europe at a mall in the CBD on Sunday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena said that two men robbed a 33-year-old man and his 30-year-old girlfriend of their bank cards, withdrawing more than R28 000 from one of the cards.
She says police saw a car with two occupants looking suspicious and they were pulled over and searched
Koena says one suspect managed to escape with one of the stolen bank cards still in his possession
The second suspect was arrested and all the stolen money recovered.
The man will appear in the Mthatha Magistrates Court on Monday.
