A top Port Elizabeth policeman has been attacked in his home in Summerstrand.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills, said that Major-General Dawie Rabie sustained minor injuries in a confrontation with four intruders Wednesday evening.
“A case of house robbery is currently under investigation after an attack at the residence of Maj Gen Rabie, Cluster Commander of Motherwell,” Mills said.
“He was in his home with his grandchild and another family member when they heard other voices in the house. On investigation four suspects were discovered in the house,” she said.
“A confrontation between the suspects and Maj Gen Rabie ensued. The suspects fled with three cellphones and Ipad,” said Mills.
She said the intruders gained entry to General Rabie’s home by “removing burglar bars of a bedroom. “
No arrest have been made.
