One of Uitenhage's top K-9 cops has chalked up another success.
Warrant Officer, Jacques Adlem, turned from good samaratan to dedicated policeman when he arrested a 40-year-old Port Elizabeth for being in possession of a large quantity of dagga.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says Adlem, who was off-duty, had stopped to assist a man who's bakkie had crashed on the R-335 on Wednesday morning.
She says the seasoned policeman became suspicious about the stacks of bags at the back of the bakkie.
Upon further investigation he found 685 kilograms of dagga with a street value of R1.3m.
The suspect was arrested and will appear in court in Kirkwood on Friday.
