Top Eastern Cape police official gunned down in Elliotdale

Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for two gunmen who shot and killed the station commander of Elliotdale, Lieutenant-Colonel, Nomalizo Dukumbane.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills, says 53-year old Dukubane was murdered near her home on Tuesday night while walking home from police station.
She says two men were seen fleeing the scene.
Mills says the motive for the murder is not yet known.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Celiwe Binta as well as national police commissioner, General Rhiya Phiyega, have condemned the attack and vowed that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the culprits to book.
Police are also appealing to the community who may have info on the attack on the station commissioner to contact their nearest police station.
