ANC national chairperson, Baleka Mbete, will deliver the keynote address at the start of the ANC's regional elective conference in Nelson Mandela Bay on Friday.
The conference takes place at St Albans Correctional Centre and runs until Sunday.
ANC regional spokesperson, Zandisile Qupe, has confirmed that there's a three horse race for the position of regional chairperson.
The sought-after post pits current regional chairperson, Nceba Faku against his deputy and Metro executive mayor, Zanoxolo Wayile.
The third person contesting the position is regional and provincial executive member Mzolile Mrara.
