Tongues wagging over ANC Billboard in PE

Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor Mongameli Bobani was gloating on Twitter on Tuesday about the spelling error on an ANC election billboard bearing the smiling face of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The billboard, which is supposed to repeat the governing party's election slogan, "Let's Grow Together", omits two letters, spelling "Togher" instead.

In his tweet, Bobani said, "the ANC wants to fix the Nelson Mandela Bay's coalition, yet cannot even spell correctly".

The UDM mayor came in for some stick from President Ramaphosa during his visit to Nelson Mandela Bay this weekend who said the Metro was "filthy" and declared that the coalition government was "not working".

The President's sentiments were repeated by ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Chairperson, Oscar Mabuyane, who held a meeting on Monday with the party's Nelson Mandela Bay caucus.

In another tweet, Bobani invited Ramaphosa and Mabuyane to visit the coalition government to receive a proper briefing on its performance.
