Ngcobo police have arrested a 24-year old man following the rape of a 3-year old girl.
Police spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, says the child was left alone while the mother went to a shebeen in Manzana locality in Ngcobo on Sunday night.
Fatyela says the suspect saw the mother at the shebeen and proceeded to her house were he knew the child would be left un-attended.
He says the the mother will be arrested on Monday on a charge of child neglect.
The 24-year old man will appear in court on Tuesday on a charge of rape.
