The controversial Nigerian pastor, Timothy Omotoso’s latest bail application has been denied by the Port Elizabeth High Court.
This is Omotoso’s third unsuccessful bail application since his dramatic arrest at the Port Elizabeth International Airport back in 2017.
The 62-year-old’s legal team has, however, indicated that they will apply for leave to appeal Judge Philip Zilwa’s decision next week Monday.
When his team applied for bail this time around, they claimed it was based on new facts but during his judgment, Zilwa said new facts could not be repeated.
Zilwa also said Omotoso, who is currently a prohibited person in the country due to his expired paperwork, is a flight risk.
The 62-year-old together with his co-accused Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho face 97 charges related to human trafficking, rape, and racketeering.
His co-accused are both out on bail.
