Two Port Elizabeth men were wounded in a suspected gang shooting in Timothy Valley on Monday night.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said a 24-year-old man was shot in the legs while his 34-year-old companion was wounded in the stomach.
A third person escaped unharmed when two men opened fire on the trio in Sweden Street shortly before 10 pm.
Naidu said the shooter is known to the victims and that the Provincial Gang Investigation Unit is investigating three cases of attempted murder.
Meanwhile, Naidu said that Algoa Park police are also investigating a case of attempted murder after a 35-year-old shop owner was shot in the head late on Monday night.
She said the victim was asleep in the shop in Old Uitenhage Road in Missionvale when shots were fired from the outside.
"A bullet hit him in the head. He was transported to a hospital in a critical condition. Soon after the shooting, a vehicle was heard speeding off," Naidu said.
She said the motive for the shooting is not known.
