Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Police have arrested three men for tampering with electricity infrastructure and possession of stolen copper cables in Kempston Road.
The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning by members patrolling the area.
They confiscated a bag with copper cables and a hacksaw.
Safety and Security Mayoral Committee Member, Lawrence Troon welcomed the arrest and commended the officers for their quick action.
He says the suspects are being detained at the Algoa Park police station on charges of cable theft and damage to infrastructure.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
