At least three people were killed in two accidents on Eastern Cape roads on Tuesday morning.
One fatality was reported following a horror accident between a truck and car at Kleinmonde near Port Alfred.
The vehicle was cut in half by the force of the impact while the truck overturned and caught fire.
Meanwhile, two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bakkie and a truck, on the Kei Cuttings near Butterworth.
Authorities said both occupants of the bakkie died on impact while the truck driver escaped unscathed.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department is urging caution on the roads which are wet and slippery in parts of the province.
