Three people were killed and one person seriously injured in a collision on the N2 between Mount Frere and Qumbu in the Eastern Cape.
The Provincial Transport Department said the accident, between a truck and sedan, occurred at around 5 pm on Sunday about 10 kilometres from Mount Frere.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the driver of the sedan reportedly lost control of the vehicle on a curve and crashed into the truck before hitting a guardrail.
He said police have opened culpable homicide dockets.
