Three people were killed and two were injured after a vehicle overturned on the R61 near Cradock on Sunday morning.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department says the Kia sedan was travelling from Tarkastad towards Cradock en route to the Western Cape with five occupants.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.
He says three men were declared dead at the scene, while two sustained injuries.
The injured were taken to Cradock Hospital for further medical care.
Binqose says it is alleged that speed and reckless driving were the main contributing factors to the accident.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
