Three people have been killed in an accident on the N9 between Aberdeen and Graaff Reinet in the Eastern Cape.
The Provincial Transport Department says the accident happened on Saturday when two vehicles, traveling in the same direction, collided.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says a Toyota LDV with 15 occupants from Cape Town and a VW sedan with an unknown number of occupants collided head and tail.
He says the driver of the Toyota LDV lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, killing three occupants and injuring ten others.
Binqose says at least two occupants from the VW sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Midlands Hospital in Graaff Reinet.
Aberdeen police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
