Three killed, 8 injured in EC accident

Three people have been killed in an accident on the R408 between Dutywa and Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape.

The Provincial Transport Department says the accident happened late on Saturday afternoon when a Toyota Avanza with 11 occupants overturned.

Two women and a man, including the driver, died at the scene.

Eight people were injured and taken to the Butterworth Hospital and Dutywa Health Centre.

The cause of the accident is not known, and police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
