Three suspects arrested for allegedly robbing a butchery in Dutywa will appear in the Dutywa Magistrateâs Court on Monday, Eastern Cape police said.
âThe trio all males pretended to be queuing for payment at a local butchery. Initially they were four in number,â said Captain Jackson Manatha.
âOnce they reached the teller, they produced knives and forcefully robbed (the butcher of) an undisclosed amount of money. Police were alerted about the robbery. A chase ensued and the three suspects aged 18, 22 and 24 were all arrested. The fourth suspect managed to flee with the money.â
Manatha said the suspects were arrested on Saturday. All three are face a charge of robbery.
