Three EC children killed in hit-and-run accident

Eastern Cape police are investigating cases of culpable homicide and failure to stop after an accident, after three children were killed when they were hit by a car on the R408  between Dutywa and eNgcobo on Friday afternoon.

Butterworth police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha says it is alleged that the children, all boys aged between 7 and 15, were walking in the road when a motor vehicle hit them.

He says all three died at the scene.

Manatha says the driver did not stop and failed to report the accident at the Dutywa Police Station.

He says the identities of the deceased are still being withheld until all their family members are officially informed of their deaths.

Anyone with information about the accident can contact the nearest police station.
