The ANC in the Eastern Cape has sent its condolences to the families and friends of three people who died in a fire at an old age home in Zwide, Port Elizabeth, on Saturday night.
ANC provincial secretary Oscar Mabuyane said in a statement that the ANC Eastern Cape leadership received word on Sunday morning that a building in the Ekuphumleni Old Age Home in Zwide had caught fire.
Mabuyane confirmed that three people had been killed and that the party was conveying its condolences to the families that had lost their loved ones.
Mabuyane said the social development department and municipality would work together to help bring normality to the home.
