Three die after bakkie overturns in Transkei

Three women died and six people were injured when their bakkie overturned near Dutywa in the Transkei Wednesday afternoon.

Police Captain Jackson Manatha said the bakkie was carrying 12 people when it overturned.

Manatha says one of the injured went into labour at the scene, and gave birth before being taken to a nearby hospital.

The 39-year-old driver was arrested for drunken driving, and driving without a license.

He was also charged with culpable homicide.
