Oudtshoorn police have arrested three suspects, including a 15-year-old youth, for copper theft.
Police spokesperson, captain Bernadine Steyn, says the three were arrested on Monday night following a tip-off that people were stealing copper cable on the road between Oudtshoorn and Swartberg pass.
Steyn says police seized 400m of copper cable valued at more than R70 000.
She says further charges might be added as the investigation progresses.
