Three men were arrested after they robbed a shop of an undisclosed amount of money in Dutywa, near Butterworth in the Eastern Cape.
Police Captain Jackson Manatha says five men, two armed with pistols, entered the shop on Saturday morning.
He says police were informed about the robbery and received information that the men went in the direction of a village outside Dutywa.
Manatha says three of the suspects were arrested in the village, but the two suspects who were armed with pistols, managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of money.
He says police recovered some of the money.
The 3 men are expected to appear in court on Monday.
