Tarkastad police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of an elderly local resident, 87-year-old Lettie Rupping.
Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci, says two suspects were arrested in the town's CBD on Monday, while the third was arrested at his home in the early evening.
She says some of the victim's personal belongings, including a firearm and debit cards, were recovered from the suspects.
The woman's missing car was found in Cradock.
Police said Rupping's body was found near the road between Mbekweni and Oxton Administrative Area near Whittlesea early on Monday morning.
The suspects will appear in the Tarkastad Magistrates Court soon, on charges of murder, house robbery and theft of motor vehicle.
