Thousands affected by power outage in East London

More than 6 000 Eskom customers are being affected by a power outage in East London. 

Eskom's Ntosh Mafumbata says the Buffalo sub station went down during the night. 

The outage is affecting the Southern Coastal side of East London including the airport and the areas of Kaizer's Beach and Cove Rock. 

Eskom officials are currently trying to determine the cause of the fault, which has been blamed on the bad weather. 

No time frames have been given for the restoration of power, but Eskom is working on the problem.
