Thornhill police investigate double murder of two Joubertina men

 Thornhill police are investigating a double murder following the death of two men from Joubertina.

The bodies of 36-year-old Allister Meintjies and 21-year-old Brendan Lee-Krige were discovered on the R-62 between Joubertina and Kareedouw more than a week ago.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, says a post mortem examination could not determine the exact cause.

She says other methods will now be used and police are still awaiting the outcome.

The search for the men began earlier this month when Meintjies' father's car, with blood inside, was found abandoned on the N-2 near the Hankey turn-off.

No arrests have yet been made and anyone who may have information should contact the police.
