Police in Port Elizabeth have condemned yet another mob murder in which a victim was necklaced to death.
Spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci says police were called out to a street in Kwazakhele about 1.25 am where they found the body of a 26-year-old man.
The victim, Sipho Sindisiwe Ngcoza, was identified by his brother.
Soci says Ngcoza had two tyres around his body, one around his neck and another around his waist, which were both almost burnt out.
She says when police arrived on the scene in Nkata Street there were about 70 community members standing around.
This is the third "necklace styled murder" in Port Elizabeth this week.
Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has now established a team of seasoned detectives to look at all three the dockets and ensure that all the perpetrators are arrested.
She says this type of lawlessness cannot be tolerated,
