Trade and Industry Minister, Rob Davies, today launched the Third annual Eat Well, Eat Safe, Eat Local campaign in Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape.
Davies says agro-processing and agriculture are expected to create a million jobs while also promoting industrial development in rural economies.
He says the Chris Hani District Municiplity has good agricultural production potential.
Davies also explains why its important to Eat local.
"If you eat local you will be supporting jobs, supporting agricultural productions, supporting agro-processing and also you will be doing yourself a favour because you will be assured that regulation will be followed by local producers. If you don't stand by local products and you choose imported, it's a guess what you getting." Davies.
