Two men accused of killing Gqeberha mother Vicki Terblanche made their first appearance in the city's High Court on Wednesday.
The case against businessman Arnold Terblanche and Reinhardt Leach had been swirling around the lower courts since 2021 and has finally moved to the High Court where the duo appeared.
Leach, who was Vicki's boyfriend at the time of her death, is accused of drugging her with a Schedule 6 drug, before suffocating her with a pillow and dumping her body in a shallow grave.
Terblanche, according to the State, was involved in the planning of Vicki's murder.
Terblanche who looked suave in a blue suit, spoke briefly to his legal representative Peter Daubermann, before taking a seat in the gallery to wait for Leach's arrival from St Albans.
Leach was supported by his father, who arrived at court early to get a glimpse of his son.
The matter was postponed to the 27th of October for the State to furnish the defence with a complete Police docket as it pertains to the case.
Defence attorney Alwyn Griebenow says they have still not received copies of the docket containing witnesses' statements and evidence the State is basing their case.
He told Algoa FM News that they negotiated with the State where they agreed that the Court could make an order for the documents to be furnished, either before or on the 27th of October.
Griebenow says the matter was transferred to the High Court months ago, yet they still don't have a copy of the docket.
He says he hopes the State will comply so that they can get a trial date and for Terblanche to have his day in court.
